Cardenas Cigars
While in Sacramento, stuck an extra day due to a cancelled flight, after having to purchase a new ridiculously priced one way ticket on a different airline to get home the next day, after being released from Sutter Medical Center due to a kidney stone that I was still trying to pass and in severe pain, after a Vicadin, I took a ride to their shop. At that point, I truly needed a smoke and some R&R time.
Quant place in Sacramento, currently undergoing very nice remodeling. I met Luis, his dad and Andy. Three great guys from my homeland. I picked up a handful of his new line of more premium cigars and lit one and kicked back with some Cuban coffee (probably the worst thing in the world for my stone but I didn't care at that point). They even offered me a drink as they were sharing either scotch or brandy with all the folks that were there smoking. Unfortunately, I was clear headed enough to recognize that would not mix too well with Vicadin. We shot the breeze for a while talking about our homeland and tobacco. I was very, very impressed with the cigar/blend. Great Cuban type flavor, as best as can be imitated without Cuban tobacco. I brought one home for dad and he has since smoked it and truly enjoyed it also. Great burn. A bit tight on the draw initially but soon opened up. I think I paid around $7-8 for the sticks but were well worth it. I truly enjoyed the company and they made me feel as if I have known them for years. If you guys are in the area, give them a try. I am planning on ordering some more smokes from them via mail. I brought back an extra couple for me and I first want to try another one to make sure the Vicadin didn't alter my taste buds too much and fool me.
