D.P.G. Cuban Classic Robusto
Since reviews are subjective to one's taste buds, I decided to go ahead and post this review. Perhaps some will think I'm nuts, but I'm just saying what I tasted, so here goes.
Initial observations find a very nice wrapper. A subtle earthy aroma from the cigar. Pre-light draw is a bit tight, so I make a second cut with my v-cutter. Right off the bat, I get a very nice spicy note. It reminds me of peppered beef jerky. The flavor is really coming off nicely. After about 20 minutes I start to get a black licorice flavor mixed in with the pepper. This cigar leaves a very nice pepper flavor on the lips. The burn is flawless, with a nice white ash. Plenty of flavorful smoke comes from a still tight draw. The mix of peppered beef jerky and black licorice is till coming through very nicely. For some reason I keep having flashbacks of jagermeister ! I know, you guys now think I'm crazy. As the second 3rd finishes up, the flavors are dropping off just a bit. There are still hints of both, but noticeably less. I'm really enjoying this one, and can't wait for the next draw. As it winds down, the pepper pics up a bit, and the licorice is almost gone. The draw is still a bit to tight for me, but it's not slowing me down any. I really didn't want this one to end.
