Default Liga Privada #9 robusto oscuro

Someone gave me this Liga Privada, a cigar I would never have bought just because it’s made by Drew Estate and that name has a negative ring to it due to the flavored crap they produce.

This 5 x 52 robusto has a nice oily oscuro dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper with one big vein. A plantation grown Brazilian mata fina binder and three Cuban seed tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras make this cigar complete. The band is nice and simple. The cigar doesn’t have a lot of aroma. The construction and draw are great, I get a little pepper flavor in the back of my throat.

I taste wood with pepper in the back of my throat. After a centimeter I get a little chocolate too. These flavors stick with me for a long time. At 2/3rd the pepper fades away, but that is the only real change I get since the chocolate appeared. The flavor of the wood reminds me of an Opus X a lot.

I get a nice smoke from the Liga Privada. The draw and burn are good and the ash is white and firm. This Drew Estate cigar actually surprised me.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, simply yes.

Appearance: 8 / 10
Construction: 8 / 10
Draw: 8 / 10
Smoke & ash: 7 / 10
Burn: 8 / 10
Aroma (first part) 7 / 10
Aroma (middle part) 7 / 10
Aroma (last part) 8 / 10
