Will you catch the catfish yourself? And why sturgeon? I'm not sure how well they would do in a pond environment. They are a big water fish...

Nah, I'm getting both the catfish and sturgeon from a local hatchery. The catfish will be 6" and the sturgeon around 17". I wanted sturgeon because I've never seen them in a backyard pond before. I talked with the hatchery owner for quite a while and he said they'd do very well in there. He actually has one in a 1500 gallon pond. I suppose it's because they're so docile.
