As for the cigars I've paired it with, it has gone well with everything I've smoked with it. Fuente to DPG to other island smokes. Just an all around outstanding sipping rum (or it used to be before the move, IMO).

Guatemala has the best Rum and I am not just saying that cause my girlfriend is from Guatemala....
