In my experience when cigars have dried out or been received dry, the tricky part is the wrapper as it can be quiet fragile. So the filler will absorb and expand which will then crack the wrapper especially at the foot.

If your able and have desire, I would recommend hydrating in steps, e.g. 65% for a month then 70%.

That being said, I opt for cracking the wrappers around the foot and smoke my way through it
