Clark County (NV) Shooting Complex pictures. Who's got 'em?
Oh wait, it's me
I was in Las Vegas for the SHOT Show, and decided to swing by the CCSC. After all, Clark County put millions of dollars into a rifle, pistol and shotgun range, so it would be rude of me not to visit at least once. The CCSC has been open for a while for rifle, pistol, trap and skeet, but just opened two sporting clays ranges on Friday. Marty (the party) Fischer designed both of them, so I knew they'd be fun. CCSC is located about 25 miles north of the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Take the 15 North to the 215 West (the exit before the Speedway), get off at Decatur and head north until you run into it. In fact you can see the city in the background in some of the pictures. They've got two 15 station courses setup in a figure eight. All the stations have three shooting positions, gun racks, and are fully covered (this will come in handy in the summer). Yesterday was day-one, and I gotta tell you, they're 90% there. Are there going to be some growing pains, sure. But they are already so far ahead of some county parks that have been in business for years, it's laughable (go down to Ft Lauderdale FL, head east, and you'll see what I'm talking about) The targets weren't too bad, and I was crushing them and feeling pretty good (until I realized I was shooting on the East Course, and the West Course is the tougher one). If you're in Vegas, give them a try. I think they've got the Silver Buckle scheduled for March, so it should be fun. http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/Depts/p...ting-park.aspx |
