First experience with B&M mold - long read
I've read about it here but have not had the pleasure of personally experiencing it. I went to a shop I'd never been to in search of Oliva V Maddy's as I had not had the chance to smoke one. I was told this shop would have them. This is the kinda of place where the whole shop is humidified. Every time I walk into one of these "humidified shops" I always think what a pain it would be to keep the whole B&M in a reasonable range, as I panic when my box moves a few points in either direction (new to this since Sept. '08). The guy working was very helpful and we talked as I walked around. I inquired about the Oliva's and he pointed me to the marca I wanted - they had several boxes. I told him I was new to the slopes and he was very helpful and informative to my questions. Since I also like the Tatuaje line he took me to that aisle where they had every Tat 'cept the Black. This aisle had a lot of sticks that were not in cello. For some reason this aisle also had alot of boxes of pluming cigars. No cello, white fuzzy sticks - I'm talking the whole cigar is fuzzy white! It was amazing to see dozens of cigars covered in white fuzz. I asked .... wtf .... response .... plume my man .. plume! We're talking boxes of $9-$18sticks (not in cello) covered in white fuzz! The kind gent bragged about how his customers LOVED these plumed cigars. I asked how long it took for these this to happen ... his answer ... 4-6 weeks usually. The next question was...... answered with ............ MOLD IS GREEN. The guy was very helpfull and I did buy what I was after. But dam I gotta think, that can't be healthy smoking head to foot mold?
