Default Quesada Espana short robusto

Quesada got introduced to the Dutch market a few months ago with the Tributo line and although I didn’t dislike them, they never impressed me either. And not just me, but most of the Dutch aficionados came to that conclusion, so the distributer decided not to continue with the Tributo series but try the Edicion Espana instead. I smoked the robusto and came to the same conclusion, nice cigar but not impressive. Now it’s time to try the Quesada Espana short robusto, a 4x50 short smoke that has a 5 euro price tag.

The chocolate brown wrapper is oily and looks good. I see a few veins and a pretty band. The construction feels good and I smell a strong smell that reminds me of a cow farm. The predraw is great and I taste tobacco with some raisin.

I taste a pleasant coffee flavour with some toasted sandwich and I like it. After a quarter of an inch I taste smooth coffee with wood and a hint of chocolate on the background. After half an inch I also taste a bit of red pepper in the back of my mouth and a mild sweetness is added to the flavours.

After a third I taste toasted flavours with some herbs and some pepper. Halfway I taste that sweetness again with herbs and wood. The toasted flavours have gone.

This cigar lasted me for fifty-five minutes. The draw is great and I got a lot of thick white smoke. The pepper and salt coloured ash is beautiful and firm. The wrapper cracks a bit and the burn isn’t completely straight, I had to correct once or twice. This cigar is full flavoured and medium bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, loved it.
