Need some help for networking in my house
So, I think it's only by luck that I was able to hook up a wireless router and get it to work for my laptop. I've not been so lucky getting my wireless bridges to work with my ReplayTV's(much like Tivo, but ReplayTV is also capable of streaming shows from one unit to another and you can send/receive shows...kinda like a napster of sorts). Anyway, I have a host of stuff I want to connect to the net at the locations (X marks the spot) in the layout attached here.
On the first floor: Living Room-This is the location the DSL modem/Linksys router is located. Router is hardwired to my desktop PC. DSL modem is a Speedstream 5100. Router is a Linksys WRT54G. Family Room-I intend to hook up a ReplayTV and a Nintendo Wii in here. Master Bedroom-I intend to hook up a ReplayTV, PS3, and my Directv HD/DVR receiver. What are my best options to have connections in both of these locations with the streaming options for gaming/tv streaming??? |
