Don Pepin Garcia series JJ maduro belicoso
The previous Don Pepin Garcia JJ maduro I smoked and reviewed I absolutely loved. I love the natural JJ series too, but the maduro is just a little bit better and one of the few maduros to leave the Don Pepin Garcia factories. I smoked the 5¾x52 cellophane wrapped belicoso.
The top of the cigar is quite blunt and the dark wrapper is oily with just a few veins. The construction feels good and the predraw is fine. I taste tobacco. First flavor I get is a high dose of pepper with a mild sweetness. The strength of the pepper fades away a bit and I also taste some wood. The maduro sweetness slowly gains some strength and after a third I also taste leather. The leather slowly gets stronger with a peppery aftertaste, the flavors are mild sweet. After two thirds I get some herbs, wood, leather, pepper and that sweetness, the flavors are well balanced and quite complex for a Don Pepin Garcia blend. Near the end I get a lot of pepper, sweetness en wood. This cigar lasted me an hour and fifteen minutes. I got a lot of thick smoke with a great draw and a straight burn. The ash is firm and almost white. This cigar is full flavored and full bodied, I had a mild nicotine overdose after smoking this baby. Would I buy this cigar again? Hell yeah. Appearance: 8 / 10 Construction: 8 / 10 Draw: 8 / 10 Burn: 8 / 10 Smoke & ash: 8 / 10 Aroma first part: 8 / 10 Aroma second part: 8 / 10 Aroma third part: 8 / 10
