Default Arganese double wrap robusto

Call me a sucker, but I just love the look of barberpole cigars. I know they are a gimmick, but I love their look. I have smoked a few like the Taboo twist, Nub barperpole and the freakin' cool looking Padilla artisan perfecto. The Arganese sampler contained a cellophane wrapped 'double wrap' 5x50 robusto and here's the review.

Both wrappers are oily and have a few veins. The construction feels good and the cigar has a nice stable aroma. The predraw is good and tastes like tobacco. The head of the cigar looks better than any other barberpole I smoked so far due to the cap.

I taste an earthy flavor with some roasted coffee, the flavors are mild spicy. After a quarter of an inch the flavors are a little burned and metallic. I suspect that this cigar is made from maduro and Connecticut wrapper, and I don't like Connecticut at all. A quick look on the Argense website confirms my suspicion, it's a Connecticut wrapper. After three quarters of an inch I get a hint of chocolate with the burned and metallic flavor.

After an inch the flavors are getting better, less burned and the metallic flavors has gone. I now taste wood with some chocolate. Halfway the chocolate disappears too and is replaced by some herbs. After two thirds I taste wood, herbs and the cigar gets more spicy.

This cigar lasted me for an hour and ten minutes. I got a lot of smoke, but the smoke wasn't thick enough. The ash has a pepper and salt color scheme and is firm. The burn and draw are good. This cigar is medium to full flavored and medium to full bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? No, unless Arganese decides to make these with another wrapper than Connecticut
