Viaje Summerfest Robusto
Viaje Summerfest Robusto
This cigar has a milk chocolate wrapper with both small and medium sized veins showing and it's also kind of toothy. It's very firm to the touch. It's packed very well. The foot doesn't have any dimples where tobacco is moving. I also notice a very thin line when the wrapper is cut off exposing the binder. I suspect this is to give the cigar a more "perfect burn". This cigar has a beautiful triple cap! The cold draw is very spicy and the barnyard taste is distinguishable as well. I also notice a significant amount of pepper too! When I sniff the foot I get that signature "viaje smell" that I have come to know very intimately over the past 6 or 7 months. I light the foot and immediately detect very rich tobacco, flavors of dark chocolate, cedar and pepper. The pepper tends to linger on the palate and coats my entire tongue! Through the nose I get rich tobacco, roasted nuts, cream, coffee and pepper (but not as harsh as a Pepin stick..) The burn is slightly uneven. I take another puff and taste marshmallows, roasted nuts and rich tobacco. A couple more puffs and I notice that the burn line is self correcting. It is virtually razor sharp now! The retrohale is pepper, light marshmallow, light cedar and rich tobacco. 2nd 3rd: The other flavors have subsided and cedar, sweet leather mesh very well with the flavor and aroma of rich tobacco. Its as though the pepper was so prevalent in the first 3rd just "vanished"! The same flavor profile continues and I also pick up notes of nougat. The retrohale produces pepper, cedar, marshmallow and clean tobacco. Final 3rd: The body has kicked into full gear! Cedar and rich tobacco continue until the end. The spice all but died down. This is a great cigar! Smoking Time: 1:10 minutes |
