Easy Oriental Marinade
I use this on beef, chicken or shrimp.
Tonight was shrimp over brocolli, carrots & saffron rice. 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup dry sherry or sweet vermouth 1 teaspoon basil 6-8 crushed garlic cloves 1 Tablespoon honey 2 teaspoon ginger 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon 5-spice Whisk all ingredients. Pour over desired meat (insert joke here). Let sit while you smoke a Robusto (1hr. 20 min. - 1 hr. 40 min). Can either barbecue or saute, your call. Works great either way. Serve with your favorite veggies over rice. For a special summer treat, try this with bottom round steak or similar cut, & after cooking refrigerate. Slice VERY thin & serve over salad with romaine lettuce, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, baby corn, carrots, onion, pepper, & tomato. Killer!!
