Welcome to CA.

As a beginner I recommend visiting your local Premium Cigar Bars, or Lounges. Get familiar with what others are smoking. Not just reading it on the internet or in a magazine, but smelling it, and taking a feel at whats in the humidor. Thats what I would do on a tight budget.
