LGC Wavell natural
The cigar:
La Gloria Cubana Wavell natural (5x50) Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra Filler: Nicaraguan and Dominican Humidor time: 4 months Smoking time: One hour Prelight: Smooth natural Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, dark caramel in color with a dull sheen. Well filled, with no soft spots. Whiffs of barnyard at the foot. Cold draw was just right. Burn: Lit perfectly, burned evenly until about the last third when it needed some touchups. Nothing serious, and not a distraction from the enjoyment. The ash was medium gray and firm, with no flaking. Generous draw, and lots of smoke. Flavor: Some soft pepper at the start, with caramel in the mix, too. Medium in body, I'd say. Finish is relatively clean. Flavor is good, but not a great deal of complexity. The core flavors are tobacco, leather, with some peppery psice, and hints of sweetness. Creamy and woody at times. It gets a bit richer and less peppery in the last third. Maybe even the briefest taste of mint and chocolate at the end? A very good cigar, IMHO, particularly at its price point. BlackIrish
