Golden orbs were fairly common on the Atherton Tablelands where I did my dissertation work... Never seen one grab a finch before though. Nothing to worry about venom wise, but their bite isn't pleasant. Nor is stumbling into their strong & sticky web...

I think if I ever fell into one of their webs I might die of heart attack lol...Spiders are cool to look at but creepy as hell in real life...
