Confused in Missouri
I keep a spreadsheet inventory of all the cigars in my cabinet. Track date, place, price purchased. Then I add date smoked and rating.
The rating thing is what drives me crazy. I will go through a stretch of time where each cigar I pick up is better then the last. The rating system is simple, A = buy more don't run out there is nothing wrong with this smoke. 1 = pretty darn good, buy it on sale. 2 = undecided but won't buy again unless something changes. 3 = not a bad cigar, but I will not fuss over it. 4 = yuck. My A list right now is (in alphabetical order): Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria Ashton VSG Corona Gorda Don Diego Aniversario #1 & #2 La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 Maduro Montecristo No. 4 (4/08) Olivia Serie G Maduro Belicoso Olivia Serie V Churchill Padron 1964 Principe Maduro Pepin Magnates Pepin Delicias Punch Coronas (6/99) Punch RS No 12 (6/99) Trinidad Robusto Maduro Tonight I am smoking the Padron Churchill Maduro and upgrading it to an A. The 3 CC's just came in from a package deal. Figured to be happy with the Monte, but was worried about the Punchs since no box codes were offered, but man they are excellent. As far as the rest of the collection there are 39 1's, 20 2's and one 3 (an old box of RP sungrowns that lost their flavor) and no 4's. There are also around 50 different sticks I have smoked but not yet rated. So here is the question. I do not consider myself to be an expert. Not very good at picking out the nuances in cigar flavors, so am I just a cigar whore that will pick up anything off the ground and smoke it? By the way, never smoked a Cremosa, but judging from the pictures it would get a 4. |
