Default Pyranos Robusto

This cigar is quite a mystery. All that we can tell you that it’s a cigar made in an undisclosed factory in Nicaragua for Schuster Cigars in Bunde, Germany. Online resources taught us that the cigar is a Nicaraguan puro. So the wrapper, binder, and fillers are all Nicaraguan grown leaves, but nowhere it’s specified what kind of tobacco is used.

The only sources that mention this cigar are German webshops. It is unclear if this cigar is available anywhere outside of Germany. The fixed price for the Pyranos Robusto is €9,80. The blend is available in a corona size and a toro too.

The wrapper is fantastic. It contains so much oil that it’s shiny, almost lacquered. The cigar has a beautiful shape and a triple cap. At first glance, the ring looks simple and a bit cheap but the odd shape elevates it to a ring that will catch your eye in the humidor. It’s black with yellow and red stars, golden and yellow letters. The Schuster logo is on the back of the cigar. The aroma is a medium strong charred wood aroma.

The perfect cold draw gives a strong raw fermented tobacco flavour. Once lit, the cigar tastes like coffee with spicy green herbs and mild pepper. There’s also some nougat sweetness. Slowly the flavours change to wood with smooth cane sugar sweetness. The second third starts with fresh wood and green herbs. Pepper is slowly gaining strength and halfway its all about spices. Nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, that direction. There’s also grass and some mild vanilla. The final third is a smooth oak with a lot of pepper. Towards the end of the cigar, the flavours change to a smooth mixture of wood, soil and pepper.

The draw is flawless. The smoke is thick, full and plentiful. The light coloured ash is not too firm, it’s decent. The burn is straight. I would say this is a medium bodied, medium flavoured cigar.

Strength: medium

Flavor: medium
