ALC. BY VOL/WT: 5.3%ABV - 4.2%ABW AVAILABILITY: Seasonal Cold Snap is a new seasonal release from Sam Adams. This might come as a shock to regular SA drinkers but is has CITRUS (lemon/orange) overtones! That's a joke for you major brand loyalists. SA ALWAYS seems to have a citrus bite to it. It's not a bad brew either. Typical SA flavor profile with just some variation on the undertones. It's actually a pretty refreshing beer. It almost is like a winter variation of their summer ale. Basically if you like and drink SA there's nothing to hate here. If you can't stand SA then just skip this one. I picked this up while buying my super bowl beers and needed something lighter than my usual Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. I definitely enjoyed it and if you've never given SA a try start with their Boston Lager and pick up a six pack of Cold Snap. Definitely worth a try. I usually try to buy a new craft beer every time I buy beer not just to support the industry but also to try new things. I used to be stuck on Guinness as my regular drink until I went to Colorado for my brothers wedding and while touring Stranahan's distillery, had lunch at the RackHouse Pub in Denver and had the chance to try Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro and ever since then haven't looked back. So, now I try a new six pack along with my regular and so far it's been fun. I highly recommend doing it.
