MAXX The Fix
Short review on the Alec Bradley Maxx the Fix Robusto cigar. A 5 x 58 short, fat well made stick with a Habano Maduro wrapper. Although this is called a maduro, the color and flavor seems more like a dark natural - not that is a bad thing. This isn't a typical maduro in the flavor department.
After a quick punch, torching the foot went well and soon volumes of thick white smoke billowed from the cherry. Smooth and creamy from the start, notes of caramel, cedar and mild leather were present. Sometime after the first inch or so, some nuttiness and coffee appeared and never really left after that point. The Maxx had a light sweetness in the background with a dark savory tobacco flavor that was also present for most of the smoke. The savory, slightly salty taste was quite interesting and after a while, I decided that it was really quite good! Burn and draw were nearly flawless, with one or two minor corrections. Very well performing flavorful, interesting cigar. I will definitely get more of these to keep in the rotation. Definitely recommended. RR |
