Default Spanish Cedar Lining question

I am planning a humidor project, which I will probably document with pics. I am planning on resawing spanish cedar and lining my piece.

I had been planning on resawing 1/4" thickness. I started to wonder... is there any need, or benefit of making the spanish cedar thicker? What would happen if I lined the piece with 3/8" spanish cedar? I realize I would lose some area and my wallet would be a little lighter. Would this actually provide any added benefit to my cigars?

Thanks.
