ST-002 – Studio Tobac Sampler 2012- Mini Noob Review
I got this from the kick off tour it has about 2 weeks in my humi on it. This is the first cigar from the sampler I have had. I smoked this one before the Advisory Board package had come in. I am sticking with this layout that I have used before. Overall : Size : 4x56 Release : Studio Tobac Sampler 2012 Burn Time : Forgot to time, maybe 1.5 hours Cut : Xikar V Cutter Lit With : Soft flame Burn : Sharp burn Draw : Draw was perfect, not too much and not tight. Ash : Ash hung on till 2/3 started then fell, and then held on again till 3/3 was crazy how long it held Drink : Bottle Water /Iced Coffee (I hardly drank this, felt like it was messing with cigar) Temp : 70ish Pros : Perfect Burn, tremendous flavor Cons : Absolutely Zero Ok here goes as I always mention, my palate is not refined like some of the vets around here, so my reviews are for the average guy like me, which has only been smoking around 3 years...I always like to put that in my review. So here goes Start 1/3: The predraw, was incredible, I love predrawing cigar, one of my favorite parts about cigars is that predraw, especially a premium cigar with good flavors. The first few puffs to me were kind of plain, and then started to pick up what reminded me of the some of the Cain Daytona. Well a Cain Daytona with a twist, a big twist. The flavors kept on, but there was something different, a good different, but it was there. It was smooth creamy, kind of a tobaccoish flavor with that Habano flavor. Start 2/3: Continued along the same Daytona flavors, some cedar/woody flavors, but extremely smooth. There is an underlining flavor to the Cain’s, if you are a Cain guy like me you know what I am talking about. You can hand me an unbanded Cain and I can almost guarantee you I will be able to tell you within a few minutes with it, that it’s a Cain of some sort. This had some of those same Cain flavors, can’t tell you exactly what they are, because I am not that in depth with my palate yet, but it was so good. Start 3/3: Continued with the cedar flavors, which I loved… This cigar seems to me what a Daytona with a Cain Habano wrapper would taste like… I love both Cains so that would explain why I liked this cigar a lot. Similar flavors of each but enough to make it, well its own cigar. In the last 3/3 or maybe I just started to pick it up, but it seems to pick up what I would call some of the Cain F profile, a little stronger, now I am a Cain F nut, it’s my all time favorite cigar, so for me to pick this up make me love this stick even more. It finished out with those flavors. End : This cigar end great, I didn’t want it to end at all… But I was able to nub it out. Overall 10/10 Studio Tobac...This cigar was awesome, I love the Cain lines, and this reminded me of a different Cain. Maybe a new Cain… If I had to name this cigar, maybe Cain Daytona Habano would be what I would say. I loved every minute of this cigar. Going to give the other 002 some age, and then revisit it again, maybe in a month or two. Defiantly would be a box purchase in a heartbeat. Great job again ST! |
