New Humidor (seasoning in progress)!!!
This humidor was a gift, on back order for months, and I am using it for most of my singles. It says 150 count (I will be lucky to get 100-125) and while I'm waiting for my 65% HF beads, cedar trays and second digital hygrometer for my Igloo coolidor project for my long term storage, I thought I would season this and fill all the crazies in on the action.
It's a barrel type, with digital hygrometer mounted in front (which I thought was a nice touch). As you can notice from the front picture, the left side seal isn't the best and after using the dollar bill test, I could pull the bill out fairly easily. The front and right side were good to go, and I'm getting a nice swoosh sound upon closing. The glass seal looks good to go as well. Although I always clean out the dust etc. inside the humidor upon receiving it, I don't normally wipe down the raw cedar with distilled water but I wanted to troubleshoot the bad seal so I only wiped down the top of the lid where the seal is made.
