Viaje Holiday Blend 2010 Torpedo
Size: 5X54
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Criollo 98 Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Price: $9.50 Viaje is Spanish for journey. Viaje is a boutique cigar company that believes in quality over quantity. They do not mass produce any of their product lines. That being said they are hard to find. Take the Viaje Holiday Blend 2010 for instance. Only 125 boxes of 30 were made in this vitola. A 4X54 Robusto is also available in 125 boxes of 30. Only 7,500 total cigars of the Viaje Holiday Blend 2010 are available. I was lucky enough to find a friend to trade a couple of these with me. Construction: The very first thing you notice about this cigar is the oily and rustic looking wrapper. This dark wrapper almost has a tint of red and some darker spots throughout. The veins are noticeable but very small. The wrapper covers the foot of the cigar which I have never seen before. It makes me wonder if lighting will be difficult. The green and silver band is very easy to remove. I don't pick up much aroma from the wrapper but the foot smells like barnyard with cocoa. The cigar feels pretty solid with just a slight give. There was one small soft spot but it had no impact on the cigar when smoking. My XIKAR Xi3 Spectra slices the end like butter. The pre-light draw is slightly sweet tobacco. http://cigarcatadore.blogspot.com/20...pedo.html#more |
