On a herf day the key is pacing and knowing the flavor/strength profile of your sticks. Typical herf runs from noonish until 9-10 at night, sometimes much later. I will always start with milder Cuban sticks like a ERDM or Por Larranaga, move to more medium and finally to a full flavored smoke. Then I usually progress to NC"s sticking with mostly med/full and full bodied smokes. End the night with something more mild of a CC nature like a RyJ or JLP. Many of these will be smaller smokes like a PC or corona. Maybe one or two churchill/pirimide size.
The key is pacing and hydration. I try to keep my sugar levels up to help counteract the nicotine.
Pacing is even more important when at one of the big herfs(SoCal, Shack) that can last 3-4 days.
