Exactly. If this guy's as stubborn as said, he won't like a damned thing handed to him unless it's his Macanudo. Nothing else will taste good to him because he doesn't want it to taste good. And that's perfectly fine; as T.G is trying to say, the guy's happy, and happiness is happiness. Our happiness is from exploring the world of cigars and enjoying the nuances of many different styles of cigar. His happiness is is his chilled Macanudo. We're not any happier than he is with our choice of taste, we just get our happiness differently.

It's great that you want to help him find something else out there that might be better or that he might like equally. It's also good that you understand that it's not worth risking damaging a relationship over.

Enjoy the time smoking with him, don't fret over trying to help him when he doesn't want to be helped. He chose to be closed off, but he's happy there. If he feels you are fighting with him or trying to teach him, he might have the opposite reaction to what you are looking for (which is that you want to gain some recognition), I don't know, I don't know him, all I know is that the personality description you gave could easily sway that way. Heck, next time you smoke with him, ask him if you can try one of his Macanudos, that might go further for you than anything else.

You might even like the cigar too.
Okay I finally think we're closer to the same page now, I'll definately take some of these tips. Thanks for the help my man, just tryin to spread the love, but I definately understand what youre saying. Its very possible that thats the way it could go, because its his way or the highway and he tries to change my ways to suit his as well.... must be a family thing lol. The only thing that matters is that I enjoy smoking with him and it never turns ugly over what the other person is smoking.

To each his own. As long as you smoke together and you both love what you smoke, it's all good! Don't mess it up.

I dont see anything wrong with that, and most certainly not trying to dominate him or overpower him in any way. We have a very healthy relationship and would never let it be damaged over a cigar. Actually we've never even been in a heated arguement over one. Im not planning on kicking down his door and demand that he put down the Macanudo and come out with his hands up or anything along those lines.
Coolio.

I hope whatever course of action you choose works out to the benefit of both you and your Uncle.
