Opus X Petite Lancero
I smoked this last week and I was surprised. Hands down, this is the best new OPus I have ever smoked. It was good from the light to the nub. If you have not smoked Don Carlito's daily go to smoke, you must. Sorry, no pics because I did not think it was going to be a barn stormer. The construction was perfect, medium to bold flavor with a finish that lasted what it seemed to be forever.

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
This one and the #4 are my favorite sizes of Opus. Nummy nummy nummy. Had one a few weeks ago and gave the other I had to my friend back from Iraq on leave. Kinda kicked his ass a bit (or maybe that was the scotch), but I nearly burned my fingers on mine.

I just bought a Perf #4 and can't wait to try it. I am more of a robusto fan though but couldn't pass up the offer.

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
The great thing about the Petit Lancero is you don't have to age them. They are ready to smoke right away unlike many other Opus sizes.

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
The first Opus I ever had was a #4, and it's what got me hooked on GOOD cigars. My tastes forever changed after I had that one. I remember giving my wife a puff of it and having her say "WOW" after she did.

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
This past weekend I smoke a Opus X Lancero, I know not the same cigar but it was pretty good. I'm not a big Opus fan so it was a nice surprise. The other Opus X I like is the Power Ranger.

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
I can't find any around here at a decent price. One store an hour away has them, but I didn't see any size for under $20. So I'm not getting one from them. Maybe one day I"ll run across one priced fairly and pick it up

Re: Opus X Petite Lancero
A Labor Day weekend smoke for me. Aged approximately 4 years. On the light had a bitter smack that didn't bode well, but settled down to the FFOX I know and enjoy in the first third. Lots of Fuente twang, citrusy and peppery notes on the tongue and nose. Great aroma. Half mark is great, hitting every NC flavor button I like. Citrus, leather, cedar with background notes of mustiness and Roquefort. The minor amount of bitterness doesn't get in the way. I have a buzz at the 2/3 mark. Bitterness creeps up in the finish but it's not overpowering, more like a good IPA.
Recommended, but don't overpay... A lot of these flavors can also be found in the Hemingway line for less.
