Re: Stray black lab mix story.
This is my first time reading any of this thread and it has me choked up. It's a great story and you've done something to better the lives of everyone involved and everyone who has read this thread. Seeing pictures of Sadie reminds me so much of my Charlie (female black lab about 1 1/2years old) and makes me want to get home and see her.
Thank you Michael even if you did make me cry. |

Re: Stray black lab mix story.
Thanks for all the comments, they help me and remind me there are others like me.
Next time, probably after her last heartworm treatment, I'll take my camera and hope I can get her to come out of "her corner". |

Sadie update...
Here's the last response from my asking how Sadie was doing: Hey there. Everything is going well. Sadie has reverted a little bit being very skiddish. I can’t figure out if she hears a dog barking in the neighborhood or what it is that sets her off. Other than that she has recuperated from the heart worm treatment and will go back in a few months to get a blood test to make sure there is no infection. Thanks for asking! PS She has gained 4 pounds. I am trying to get her out walking and exercising a little at a time! |

Re: Stray black lab mix story.
GREAT NEWS!
--- From Jan: Sadie is great. Getting better by inches and very slowly. It is almost time for her check up to make sure she is still heart worm free. I took her to the dog park a few weeks ago. She really did not want to engage the other dogs much. That's fine, because I don't see me bringing anymore dogs in the house. She still wakes me up very early sometimes, like 4 am to go out. She is getting fat! I need to exercise her more. Walking her is a real work out. She is all over the place. How are you? I got a new camera for Christmas and if I can just figure out how to download pictures I will send your some. My home computer has been acting up. Ugh. --- I've asked for pictures and will post when she sends. |

This is so cool! You have made Sadie a part of a caring family and there is nothing better for a dog!
Kudos and much Karma to you and Jan and Dianne, and everyone else who helped out! |

Re: Stray black lab mix story.
Forgot to post these... BTW, her last heartworm test came back negative, so she's good to go!

Re: Stray black lab mix story.
Just heard from Jan. Good news again! From Jan:
Sadie's doing great. Just got her shots and her test was negative. She is up to 77 pounds, from 60 when I got her. She's still skittish. She doesn't seem to care much for anyone other than me and that's okay. I just want her to have a good doggie life. |
