Re: Winter hiatus
this will actually be my first cigar winter. been into pipes for a while before now, so i usually smoke those fine in the winter. easy to start and stop. winter will be harder now though with cigars and living in NH. Damn cold and i can only smoke pipes inside.

Re: Winter hiatus
I slow down in the winter, but that is when I do most of my buying for next cigar smoking season. ( I can't wait to move to FL)

Re: Winter hiatus
I don't slow down but I go to my winter rotation of shorter smokes.
Instead of spending 1 1/2 hours or more on Robustos, Churchills, Lonsdales and whatnot, I move to PC's, Panetelas, Demi Tasse, and so on. I kinda look forward to the change of pace. |

Re: Winter hiatus
Unfortunately it has already started.... the slowdown that is.
Right now it is somewhat bearable as it is only in the 40's at night when I usually relax on the back deck with one. November will take it down to one or two a week, and the bitter cold of December, January, and February will take it down to just a few a month. Smoking in zero and below zero temps SUX!!!

Re: Winter hiatus
We don't have to much cold weather in Dallas . When it gets to cold I just go in thr garage with the heater and smoke. So to answer your question my smoking habits don't change much threw out the year.

Re: Winter hiatus
I live in Minnesota, so outdoor smoking is definitely limited in the cooler weather. I'll occasionally smoke in the garage if it's not too cold, but that's not really very nice. I'll also sometimes smoke while ice fishing, because then I'm dressed for being in the cold. Otherwise I'll visit a B&M sometimes.

Re: Winter hiatus
In the winter I still buy at my usual pace, but smoke only my small cigars. This means my collection grows by leaps and bounds during the winter months. When it is not raining I like to enjoy a nice smoke, but I tend to stick with the short smokes because I can't take the cold.
