Default Weird Oliva MBIII

So I've ordered plenty of these MBIII toros from Holts, and fellow inmate dwoodward mentioned that he noticed differences in the ones HE'S gotten. ANYHOO...my order came in today and so I whipped out one from the cooler (been in there for a couple of months)...and noticed it tasted...odd.

Then I noticed the following (see attachments)...looks like 2 patch jobs

Thoughts?

I contacted Holts and they asked me to check the rest of them, and would address it then. I asked about them being seconds, and she replied that it's complete fluke and they are in fact, originals.

I checked all 32 of them, and found no more patch jobs...but are these veins normal?

Patch jobs are uncommon, but not unheard of. Occassionally the roller will accidentally nick the wrapper or there may be an unnoticed hole in the wrapper, so they just patch it with a spare piece of wrapper. The veins are just likely luck of the draw. Tobacco is a natural product, and the wrapper leaves are sorted by humans, so on occasion, a slightly lower grade can sneak its way to the rolling tables. I'd say the same to your one "odd" one. Could be just the bad one of the box, or you could have just smoked it in a sick period. If it was a consistent problem throughout months I'd be worried, but one stick ain't enough for alarm in my book.

I don't think the Supreme Court is ready for cigar-man marriage arguments.

I will pick up a 5er from somewhere else and compare them.

If I were to rank my confidence in domestic vendors, Holts would rank at, or very near, the top.
