I guess I don't lead as an exciting life as some of you guys.

To be able to travel cross country to smoke cigars with complete strangers you met on the internet, well that's edge of your seat stuff right there

Well, I get to run race control for the largest relay race in the world. 16,200 people right there. It will be an exciting weekend filled with much running and walking and hopefully few police and ambulance calls. There will be cigar smoking.

16,200 beats 1700, right chief?

Think about developing lifelong friendships before ever actually meeting someone in person. Friendships so strong that you would trust those people, with 100% confidence, to stay in your home, and you couldn't even pick their face out of a crowd. Logging in to this online home and sharing stories, laughs, accomplishments, triumphs, defeats, births, deaths, and everything in between.

And then, one day, you finally get the opportunity to travel somewhere and meet people in real life and share a cigar with them, people that you could swear you have known your entire life. The instant solidification of the affinity that has developed towards those people solely from interactions in this online community after finally getting to physically meet them for the first time is something so spectacular, it truly is magical.

I'd try and begin to explain how it is about so much more than the cigar, the cigar is only the catalyst that brings us all together on this second home, but you truly would not have the faintest idea what I'd be talking about. But anyways, yes, I'd say that is pretty exciting.

You keep shooting your clay disks, though.

Right up there with traveling across the world to shoot at pieces of clay that can't shoot back. Right, chief?

Whatever floats your boat. When you are a guest on a cigar board, it is kinda bad form to bad mouth the gathering put on and paid for by one of the board owners. But tact isn't your style, is it, chief? You must have pretty small feet to get them both in your mouth at the same time.

I can do that at my gun club.

Johnson Island, OH is a smokers paradise. Outside of Havana, I cant think of a better mecca for cigar-o-philes.

For the chief. The press says 17,500, but I think that the 16,200 is more realistic. I'll know for certain the numbers at 2:00am Friday when we open Race Control.

I'm betting that, since this is a cigar board, that almost no one is excited enough to have me post my control log here after the race. Well, except you.

Yeah, herfing, drinking, laughing and sharing with guys I have known anywhere from 8 years to a few weeks can't compare to shooting pigeons and having beer spilled on my nutsack by some drunken Aussies. Your descrpition on the 17 day event had me on the edge of my seat as well, and then right off it, as I fell into a boredom coma. But I am awake now, Chief, and ready fro some more enthralling snippets.
