Re: Official Shack Herf VIII Beer Tasting Thread
Boy am I ready for the Shack Beer Tasting. I ALWAYS miss the Shack Saturday owing to other business,
and while I WILL be missing Thursday, gaining Saturday is huge for me. I realize that we are talking about Friday evening, but Saturday has been a mystery for me, keeping me out of the cornhole tourney every year. No flank steak in all my 5 shacks....I have about a 6 pack of things I can bring. I have NO true prizes, but maybe a few palate cleansers and a good stout or two. And of course, a couple boxes of pint glasses, haha. |

Ok, maybe just one.

Re: Official Shack Herf VIII Beer Tasting Thread
I just attended the 2nd annual Twin Cities beer fest this past Saturday. I didn't find anything very exciting. Dave said to look for Surly so I'll look for that tomorrow. I've been to three breweries here so far. Some decent oatmeal stouts that unfortunately can't be put in growlers.

MMM that WTF beer is good.
I am going to bring this Case of 2011 Bell's Expidition Stout 750ml of Bell's sparkling ale 750ml of Bell's Harvest ale. I should pick up some Lagunitas unemployment ale, that stuff is great.

Re: Official Shack Herf VIII Beer Tasting Thread
+2.
You have to remember that when it really gets rolling, this tasting, if years past are any indication, is a steamroller of heavy, crafty, hard to find beers. To clear the palate with ANYTHING that is different from the prevailing trend is pretty damn refreshing. I like motor oil almost as much as the next guy, but I would appreciate ALL entries that keep me going longer and to me that is something light and refreshing and quality. LORD my beer nipples are getting hard. And naturally, I am interested to see if you can participate in all these events and still be standing later. |
