Is this exclusive to just CI and cigar.com (aside from their cbid/cigarsprint type sites)? Don't see them anywhere else.

That's the description I'm afraid of. I've tasted something like it in the Punch Uppercut, and again in the Illusione MJ-12, and I wasn't a fan.

Would you (or anyone else) say the profile was anywhere near either of those? I do like chocolate, I love cedar and coffee.... but the eastern spice flavor of those two really didn't do it for me.

I agree. I am a fan of the punch uppercut as well. They both share something, flavor wise, with the Padillia signature 1932 which may be what you are describing. I'm not experienced enough to say I'm certain but I like the flavor of all three.

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps I'll smoke one anyway, just to see if it does give me that same flavor. At least it'll help in the future to know.

I've got a Padilla 1932 sitting around somewhere, I might light that up too.

Have you had an Illusione MJ-12?

Ps - love the avatar. Love Chesterton! The Man Who Was Thursday is one of my favorite books ever.

Padilla 1932 is one of my favorites. I've only had one or two Illusiones but that was a while ago when I first got started. I think one of them had a silver wrapper so that may be it but I wasn't keeping good notes back then so I can't say for sure. I'll see if I can't pick one up this week and see if it fits the same profile.

Chesterton rules! I have never read any of his non-fiction...just Orthodoxy and The Everlasting Man. I've put The Man Who Was Thursday on my list and will let you know how I like it. Thanks for the heads up. Always love to read books recommended by people who like authors I like.

I'd be quite interested to find out if you think they all fit the same profile, or nearabouts.

I might try to smoke the 1932 tomorrow night to see if I like it. I'm guessing I might not!

But it sounds like for those of you who like the MJ-12, the 1844 might be the ticket for you!

1844 is on my list of "To-buys" next time I get to a B&M. If it is anything like the MJ12, I'll be happy!

I have never seen the 1844 at a B&M. You might have to go with CI,cbid or another CI owned route.

They might be sort of hard to find at a B&M as they are exclusive to a couple online sites from what I have heard.
