They all taste the same.

About a month ago, all my cigars started to taste the same right after I lit them. it started out just being the 1/3 of the cigars and then they would be fine, but lately, any cigar I smoke has the the same flavor all the way through. Even cigars that have only been in the humidor for a couple of days have the same taste to them. Its not a horrible taste but its not all that pleasant either. Cigars that smoke right after buying them from a B&M taste fine and ones that I get in the mail taste fine until I put them into my humidor. Is there anything I can do? I might just start keeping any new cigars in Tupperware to see if that makes any difference.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it would help (me, at least) to know what "taste" you are referring to.

If all my cigars started tasting like the same type of some weird funk, they would probably all be removed from the humi. Everything out, and inspect everything. Boxes, humi lining, etc. just to make sure it's not a mold/mildew thing. But I don't know if that's the "taste" you are referring to. Then I would store in tupperware (lid set loosely on top), let the humi air out thoroughly, then reseason. A few days ain't gonna hurt the sticks being out of the humi.

Where is your humi stored? Of course, not the exact location, but maybe if it's a high humidity area, that could have some part to play as well.

Just throwing ideas out there.

I cant really describe it. it doesn't even taste like tobacco or a normal cigar flavor.

Different blends should have different tasting notes. Try two dramatically different blends like a strong Nicaraguan and a mild Dominican. If they taste the same then it is more likely your palate than the cigars. Take a break for a week or two and see if things have changed. Also, note if you have changed anything lately. Like a new medication, different toothpaste, etc.

It's certainly time to take a break IMO. For me that is why I smoke 2-4 cigars a week now. I enjoy them more and when they aren't "on" I know. Smoking too many cigars made me too critical of each one, and IMO I lost some enjoyment.

I had this problem with my cooler a while back. I took everything that wasn't cigars or beads out and gave it some time. I still have no idea what caused it, but it went away.

Anything new in the cooler? New boxes or something? What humidification device?

He said cigars from a B&M tasted fine until he put them in the cooler, so it has to be something in there.

Great ideas by all. I use HCM beads and have for a while now. Nothing new in the Humi except cigars. I'll probably try the inspection/reseason thing first to see if that does anything. I'll probably try the smoke 2 diff. cigars thing too.

I had an issue with overhumidification, too. My humidity was nearly 80%, and my cigars didn't seem to have any real flavor. They were all that way, too. Maybe you could try recalibrating your hygrometer, too.

Here's another idea; try changing your diet. I don't mean drastically, I mean try five different spicy lunches for a week while smoking no cigars then smoke your first cigar on Saturday morning while you relax and do nothing but smoke. Or, if you normally eat spicy foods, try less spicy lunches for a week (cold cut sandwiches would be great).

Treat your taste buds and your nose to something different for a few days, your palate may wake up.

Aside from the too wet thought that's been covered, maybe get them some air.
While you're working on drying and airing out, grab some smokes off WTS. Other guy's smokes are always better than your own. A little $20 fiver might be just what the doctor ordered, and it'll buy you some time to bring your sticks around.
Just crack your lid overnight for a few nights and see if it eases that thick humid air you smell when you open your humi. I don't know how big your humi is or how many cigars, so you might want to adjust "a few nights" accordingly. I was imagining maybe a 200 ct desktop.

That would be a great idea if i had any money. I do have some smokes headed my way but I don't know how many. I pulled all the smokes out of my 2 humidors and put them in tupperware. I'm going to let the humidors air out and let the cigars get some air while I recalibrate my hygrometer. I've got a buddy coming into town this weekend so I might make a trip to a local cigar bar or B&M with a lounge and just smoke there for a couple of days.

here are the humidors I have.
sorry i dont have any inside pics of the first one. the only one i have is of it empty. and we all know what happens then.
