Default Fantasy Hockey 08-09

Looks like most of the participants of our FH League have found their way over to the Asylum.

We can use this thread to communicate, trash, talk, ask questions, etc...

Same stakes as last year....everyone sends 2 Premium cigars to the winner, and one to second place.

Chime in if you are in the league, and have joined the Asylum...I know I have seen many of you here.

Bout time you guys let me know where you all were! I obviously work too much and missed a $hitload of what has gone on in the last few weeks.

You know how I found out? I went to go buy a new iPod (after 4 years on my old one) for all of my business traveling. I uploaded the DogWatch podcast which I haven't listened to in 2 years and they started talking about it on there. I was like WTF????

Then, I was lost. And then Tom found me! HAHAHAHAHA

Not enough goalies

We need to change the rules so we start getting stats for warmups. Then my goalies would start putting up numbers

I think I have 3 games out of my goalies so far this season

Perhaps I should become accustom to rankings in the teens, because I don't think I am going to see the top 10

The team that is leading a specific category (e.g. goals, assists) receives the most points (i.e. 16).

Example
Team Y has 10 goals
Team X has 6 goals
Team Z has 1 goal

Then Team Y gets 3 points, team X gets 2 points, and team Z gets 1 point

This gets repeated for every category. 16 being the best because we have 16 teams.

I am so clueless with this I have lost interest.

Does everyone on the roster play or only the starting line?

Exactly...the team with the most goals for the season gets 16, 2nd gets 15, so on until last place which gets 1. The total of points like this in each category are added to create your score listed in the standings.

PHUCK!
There are a maximum number of games at each position. I believe 246 for center for example (3 centers for 82 NHL games). If you have 45 centers on your roster, you still only can plau centers in a total of 246 games, so you use your best centers regularly, and the others for when regs are injured, when someone else gets "hot", or in your utility spots.

Gotta love my team...score goals but don't pass (no assists) and have a crappy +/-. Sounds like my college team.

I don't even have a starting goalie. I think next year we should cut down on some of the positions.

First complaint I have had about that in 4 years of running it....We can tweak it next year if the majority feel that way.

I used the pre-rankings and got 3 good starters and 2 back-ups....but I paid for it by getting less quality scorers than most.
