Default Mail to Canada?

I tried mailing something to a buddy of mine in Canada today and was told Canada Post is on strike. Only way USPS would ship it up there was if it went Express Mail....an extra $43

Anyone hear about what's going on up there?

EDIT: Please keep it clean. I'm talking about shipping.

Rotating strikes of 24-48 hours in duration. Not a big deal at all in terms of interrupted flow.

Except UPS hands everything over for customs inspection....
and then some boob gets to decide how much they are going to nail for excise, duty, handling....
Best off just hanging on for a bit, they won't be striking for much longer.

Not if it has to go through a processing plant... it might make it to the plant and sit in airline containers until they can process it...if Canadien customs in integrated with the Post then your package could get held up until Customs can get to it. I'd go with Darryl hold off if you can...
