Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
For a short time, few days, I use a cigar caddy with a little spongfe inside. For long time (>2-3 weeks) I use a jar with a sealing oring-lid it is perfect, for me.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
Am I the only one who does this?: A day or so before I know I'm going to be on the road for a while, I'll grab the appropriate sized Otterbox, open it, and toss it in my humi. Just before I head out, I'll put a few cigars in it, close it up, and head out the door. It's my thought that sitting in the humi, the foam trays and the cheap foam puck acclimate to the more humid circulating air so that when I pull it out and close it up with the cigars in it, there's enough of that air coming out of the humi with it to keep my smokes in good shape for up to a few days. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I've been happy with the resulting smokes for as many as four days using this method. If longer, I might toss in a water pillow or something.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
Can't say as I have.
When I take trips over a long weekend, the cigars were fine. If I'm going to be gone for a week or more I jusr bring a small 20 count humi on the trip in the car.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
My 15-count Herf-A-Dor has a humidification device on the lid, but I've never charged it up.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
In Ohio there really isn't a need as long as it's only around a week or so. Now someplace like Arizona may be a different story.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
I always do, because I usualy don't take the cigars out when I get home. I just leave a Boveda in there and I am always ready to go. There are cigars in there now that have been in there for a few months, and they still smoke just fine.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
I do. But now that I think about it it's probably not needed for weekend trips. Old creature of habit I guess.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
My larger 18-ct cigar caddies have a puck from cigarmony. My 2 and 5 cts don't have humidification but they are only used for a night out or maybe weekend trip.

I use a little homemade tube with 65% bead. Probably don't need to, but do it anyway. I think our problem in the South is more of a need to absorb excess humidity than to provide humidity. My $0.01.

I keep a boveda pack under all the foam in my X-treme. I've been going on one packet for about a year now because of the seal.

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
Yes always... I pretty much always have my 50 ct with me and I like to keep my sticks happy. So I bought 2 of the 1 oz 65% bead tubes from heartfelt and they work like a charm. I just stick one in the middle row and one in the top row of my foam and I can still carry 48 sticks if need be while keeping them in tip top shape!

Re: Do you put humidifying devices in your TRAVEL
I usually do if I'm going to be gone for more than two days in the winter and longer than a week in the summer.
