I should have a few humis coming off the bench very shortly.... and I have a bunch of others in various stages..... But, in the mean time.... My lovely lady & I spend all day Sunday cleaning out and organizing the Waxing Moon shop.... Thought I'd share some pictures....
Making trays.....

Ed - Awesome shop...Question on the planer - I just picked up the same (well, close - the 735 model), do you still have the straight knife head in there...or something else ? Just curious with all the figured woods you do...

Re: Waxing Moon Humidor Thread
Just oiled up these four today.... and I have a bunch of stuff going on in the flanks... bits and pieces of humidorage lying about on various shelves.....
Quilted Maple seems to be the flavor of the day.... Lacewood & Quilted Maple... Morado (Bolivian Rosewood & Quilted Maple) Qulted Maple & Walnut.... this thing is HUGE! (With Drawer) And... I guess if we're going off the flavor of the day... Macassar & Gabon Ebony is the way to go.... (Paper is protecting the glass top).... These are all trayed out and just about ready for the lacquer.... You'll be seeing these again shortly... there's some interesting tray work going on inside of 'em... that big one has 11 trays in her....

That Bolivian Rosewood & Quilted Maple humidor is beautiful, what a great wood and a great contrast with the quilted maple.

I can't wait to get her ready for my sticks. I should also have a new box of Case Fuentes to go in to her. |

Re: Waxing Moon Humidor Thread
Made some headway on this prototype today... She should be coming off the bench pretty soon.... Everything is "dry fit" at the moment.... will get it all assembled in the near future...
Here's a pic of the "intent".... Here's how she looks "pieced together".... still have to mill down the lid, but, the board sitting on top is the one I plan to use.... Here's a pic of one of the sides, lined.... I still need to make the drawers and place the drawer runners... The left side of the panel will allow for the humidification flow.... The right side of the panel is the sealed off compartment for Cutters, Lighters & maybe even a flask of scotch.... This is the "front".... I will be putting a couple of shelves in here. This part is sealed off from the rest of the interior. And here is the "back" middle portion with an Avallo Accumonitor..... I will install the sensor on one of the sides and "short change" one of the drawers. .... A long time in the making.... but, she's coming together real nice!
