Default Chapel Hill, NC cigar bars/restaurants

Is there anywhere in Chapel Hill that is "cigar friendly?" The only place I know of near there is The Angus Barn, but that is not exactly CH.

Any suggestions?

The smoking ban has really put a damper on the cigar scene at bars & restaurants. Personally, I'd make a trip over to Empire Cigars for a smoke.

I was thinking of that, too. The biggest issue there might be transportation -- more people than we have seats in the car, I think.

How is it that the Angus Barn still has smoking rights? I haven't been there since the ban. Is there something they are doing that other restaurants cannot do?

Not many in Chapel Hill but there are a few in Raleigh which is about 20 minutes away.

Near downtown is a cigar bar called.....Havana Deluxe. Pretty mellow in there but cool.

Hard enough to smoke indoors in NC - now it might get harder to smoke outdoors, too. Heads up, tarheels.

I assumed this was going to be about the Embassy Suites at Brier Creek. They have a great patio, but they can't like me setting up all evening out there . . .

Thanks for the leads, folks. Looks like the weather may test our fortitude if we attempt to rough it outside, too.

.....Or you can drive over to Franklin Co and sample from the Kurtz cooler in a climate controlled environment.

Empire Cigars is a cigar shop in North Raleigh and right off of 540. Not too too far from CH. Great sitting / lounge area and you can byob.

Cool Re: Chapel Hill, NC cigar bars/restaurants

The Angus Barn allows smoking in "The Meat Locker". It's actually a converted meat locker. They said the law states that at least two walls must not be connected to the building.
It's a decent setup but they escort you through the kitchen to get there.
They keep it heated and it has a TV with bar and cigar service.

Does anyone know if you can smoke cigars in the outdoor section of The Top Of The Hill Restaurant in Chapel Hill?

You can smoke in the outside section if Top of the Hill Restaurant. They even have a very small selection of cigars for purchase at the bar. I am not sure if that holds true during the winter when the roof is enclosed.
