Viaje Skull and Bones
I understand that there were 2 different releases of the Skull and bones. I received 2 in a purchase and absolutely love them. Im looking at ordering more but nervous about buying anouther set and they end up being the other release and not tasting the same. then not liking them of-course.
So my question is whats the difference, if any, in the 2 skull and bones releases?

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
Are you talking about last years release and this years release or the two separate shipments from this year? If you are referring to the two different shipments from this year they are the same. Not real sure why some shops received boxes in two separate deliveries.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
I spoke with (Mark) the co-owner of Joyals Cigars (401-822-0536) located in Rhode Island today. He told me that Andre, the maker of the Skull and Bones, may be re-releasing a limited quanity of the same cigars. The caught name is Daisy Cutters. Mark said to call the store back in the first part of the new year because he is one of the very few stores that will received them.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
will they be the same blend and thus "should" taste the same as the other skull and bones releases? - thank you for the info i will have to call and talk with him
but my main question remains whats going to be the difference between the version/release i have and the other release with a clean cut at the foot?

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
The ones with the clean foot are more than likely the original Daisy Cutters(Skull and Bones) which were released last year and are much shorter than the current release. There is only two releases so far. Last years and this years. Andre just two shipments of this years but they are the same exact stick. If they are last years they will be a great smoke but a bit different from this years. I am sure the blends are similar but due to different sizes and different crops they will taste different. I have yet to smoke this years yet but most seem to feel that this years is a better smoke than last years.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
so it looks like they wont be exactly the same but very similar, argh. what to do then, they will cost about 15bucks a stick.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
The originals were very good so it will be money well spent.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
its either that or 10, that is all that is available to me currently. 5 is probably what I should do though

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
I would go with the 10 personally. You can always recoup your money if you're not happy with them. These are hard to find and there are a lot of brothers and sisters on this board looking for them.
Just my opinion.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
Everyone I've talked to says that the new ones are as good as (if not better than) the DCs. I would grab at least 10 and sell/trade them off if they aren't your thing. Shouldn't be hard to move.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
They are excellent smokes. But they are STRONG. Regarding price, I paid about 15 each as well. I feel it was money well spent.

Re: Viaje Skull and Bones
Viaje is a cigar you can not miss with in my opinion. If you find a special release and it is not to your taste as said before you will find someone here to trade or deal with. You wont know unless you try. But remember every cigar is different they are hand made out of plants. They may be quite similar however the best part is no two will ever be exactly alike.
