Perdomo Factory Tour
My local tobacconist is planning a trip for customers to the Perdomo factory in Nicaragua. Wanted to know if anyone had been to the factory and/or the two day trip to Perdomo? Been to ProCigar in the Dominican several times and it is coming up and wife will only let me choose one. Any info is appreciated.

Re: Perdomo Factory Tour
I don't know anyone personally, but I did remember reading on the forums some time ago where someone went. Said it was one of the best experiences of his life.
I think that anyone who enjoys cigars should see a factory at least once in their life. |

Re: Perdomo Factory Tour
If you get the chance, definitely visit Nicaragua. I own a B&M in VA, and we went in January to Nicaragua with a group from Cigar Tourism, which is led by Colin Ganley, Editor of the ECJ. It was such an amazing trip that I begged Colin to take a group from my store - he agreed and we are headed back there in December.
There are so many great manufacturers in Esteli, I can't imagine visiting just one! We toured the Perdomo Factory in January, and to be honest we don't have that scheduled on our current itinerary, it didn't make our 'must see' list, although with Colin you can customize any tour - instead we're getting access inside the Padron Factory, visiting Oliva, Joya de Nicaragua and Drew Estate - and we've got our own blending session arranged with Nestor Plasencia, Jr at his factory, along with cigar rolling classes at My Father Cigars and a personal tour of Pepin's tobacco fields. We have lunches planned with some of the manufacturers, cigar tastings, rum tastings, and a day relaxing in the colonial city of Leon. We are counting down the weeks now! I cannot say enough about our trip with Cigar Tourism, and Colin has put together an awesome package for our store. We're even going on the Cigar Tourism trip to the DR next year instead of ProCigar, along with several others from our January trip! Check out the link for our trip and the itinerary with all of the extra activities - we've got some space left in our group, so if your schedule is open then we would love to have you join us. Colin does have several other dates available next year also - along with that DR trip! http://cigartourism.com/Cigar_Tourism/Winstons.html If you have any questions about Nicaragua, the factories, or our tour in December just send me a PM. |

I had the opportunity to meet Colin at the ProCigar festival in February. Great guy. Tell him hello from Texas.
