Wow, this too just happened to me today. I was waiting for my box of 'The face' from NHC and the freakin' fedex guy delivered them to a house around the block from mine. Same house number, different street. I checked the shipping status and it showed delivered, only I had not received them. Then out of nowhere I get a knock at my door and some lady is handing me the box and stating that it was sitting on her porch. Man did I get lucky. Can one file a complaint about such incidents? Has anyone ever filed one?

I am sure you can although who knows what it will do. I called my USPS today to b*tch about my mail carrier since he was nice enough to leave the box that Chingas sent out in the rain yesterday with no plastic covering it like UPS and Fed-Ex does. It literally poured all day yesterday and the dumb prick left the box in front of my door which has no overhang. Luckily the way Chingas wrapped the contents nothing got wet inside but the box was a soggy mess. Pissed me off as this guy is a royal screw up.

Not trying to defend the USPS because I have suffered from my share of screw-ups, but I have also experienced screw-ups from Fed Ex and UPS as well. It all depends on the delivery person. Some of them have common sense and some don't and if the delivery person does not have common sense then it does not matter what uniform they wear.

As one who sends a lot of packages I find that the USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail service cannot be beat. Neither UPS nor Fed Ex can come close to the USPS pricing -- especially for the 2-3 day delivery time.

It's even worse when it comes to international delivery: pricing, customs forms and processing make UPS and Fed Ex prohibitive for me...

For the OP: if the package was sent a priority Mail or Flat Rate you should be able to file a claim (can even do it online); you just need the DC.

Was it sent regular mail or priority? I think that you get insurance with Priority???? I've had an issue sending something to NY, USPS lost a birthday gift to my niece, that was hard to swallow.

No insurance on Priority unless you purchase it. A dc is not insurance, it just let's you track the delivery.
