First CIgar, Really Excited
So yesterday i went and bought my first cigar, and after my post is on i will be smoking it. I have smoked everything out there but never a cigar so i thought why not. I didnt really know what i was looking at and the shop keeper didnt help a whole lot, but i decided on something in the mid price range, a Baccarat Corona. It looked good and I think im ready after reading the how to's and so on. So here we go.

Don't buy expensive ones yet. You smoked that puppy in less than an hour. That puts you on the "you smoke fast" side of things. I can baby a cigar for hours if I get lazy enough. I am on the slow side for sure. Welcome to CS and to the world of cigars.

Re: First CIgar, Really Excited
Just wait, cigar smoking is sort of anti climatic at first. With lighting and cutting issues, and trying to pair the right drink with your cigar and all. Soon you'll get clean cuts, proper lights, and know exactly what drink your cigar needs. Let's just say you'll be visiting the Coinstar a lot.

haha! That is so cool. Baccarat was my first-ever cigar too! I think it was like a Rothschild.

Re: First CIgar, Really Excited
i thought it took me a good while, the lighting of it was the hardest part because im used to cigarettes and black and milds.
is 45 minutes not that long for a cigar? |

Re: First CIgar, Really Excited
That sounds about right for a rothschild or small robusto. Try and take about a puff every 45-60seconds. This allows the cigar to burn slowly and not acquire any off tastes. The main thing is to enjoy yourself and relax. Did you like it?
