R.I.P. NHL's Pit Martin
64 year old Hubert "Pit" Martin, former NHL star, died today in a snowmobile accident near Quebec.
Martin was one of my childhood heroes, centering the Chicago Blackhawks "MPH Line" in the 1970's for Jim Pappin and Dennis Hull. The second tragic death for Blackhawks alumni in the past few years, after Keith Magnuson died as a passenger in a crash in 2003. As a Hawk from 1967-78 Martin had 243 goals and 384 assists in 740 games. He also spent time with the Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks, compiling career totals of 324 goals, 485 assists and 809 points the 1,101 games. R.I.P., Pit........#7.

Re: R.I.P. NHL's Pit Martin
He was part of the big trade that sent Esposito and Hodge to Boston. Sail on Pit.
