My passport arrived today so I am good to go...

I do speak a bit of Spanish. I am Puerto Rican and my mother speaks it all of the time so I understand it very well, I'm just not the best at speaking it.

Just remember that when you jump in a taxi in Esteli, it is considered public transport. The driver will pick up 5 other people going in your general direction and drop them off along the way. It should only cost 50 US cents for the cab.
Also enjoy the local Nica heavy metal bar downtown, The Titanic (not the Titanic fish restaurant on the Pan American). The are amused by the rare Gringo and sell liters of beer for $1.50.

It looks like the trip has been delayed to May 4th so that Nestor Miranda can accompany us.

It's not a huge problem but I do have to take an extra day off of work and cancel my time off for next week...

I was really looking forward to leaving next Wednesday.
