How much would you spend?
OK, so we talked about what is in our affordable range, what we normally like to spend, now it is time to go the other extreme. There are a couple questions here.
Which brand(s), or which maker(s), would you be willing to spend over $15 to stock your humidor with a couple of their normal production cigars? Secondly, if a special stick came out from a specific brand or blender, who would it be (may be more than one) and how much would you be willing to spend on their newest and greatest? Thanks for playing. Peace of the Lord be with you.

Re: How much would you spend?
Anything in the Padron Anni line, 64 and 26.
Would love for my humidor to have nothing but them. The problem is I can never keep any on hand. There is an unwritten, must burn rule on them for me.

Re: How much would you spend?
Hmm, there are no cigars in production that I have smoked that I would pay $15 or more to put in my humi. Just can't afford it nor will the sense of how I was raised allow for it. I bomb with those type sticks at times, but not for me.
There are only 2 sticks that I would spend that kind of money on today if I could get them (they are discontinued), both the Oliva Bold red or blue with the same amount of age on them - 6+ years or so. Not sure how many I would get, but I would get a few.

Re: How much would you spend?
Our last couple of herfs, I've treated myself to one stick in the $15-20 range. I can't see spending more than that on a single smoke, and even that not very often. There's just too many tasty, cheap smokes out there...

Re: How much would you spend?
Just thought I would share that this topic is as interesting as any "what would you do" or "what would you choose".
I can see how many make the point that there is no way they would spend that kind of money on a cigar. Life is complex. Not all see things the same. What is too much today, may be nothing tomorrow and suddenly be a whole lot all over again. I recall when I first got in the saltwater fish hobby. My brother in law would buy $50 fish. I would buy the Damsels as cheap as they could be. I said heck if I will buy one $50 fish when I can buy 10 $5 ones. Well, that evolved to today's fish tank, where I have one that costs over $5K, one over $3K and a few of $1K. Fish, cars, cigars, etc, all the same. All a matter of one's stage in life and what one sees as affordable. Today, I am back to looking for $5 Damsels if I had to buy a fish. From an Aristocrat full of Cohibas, I have evolved to one full of anything but Cohibas, again, back to the humble beginnings. So, never say never. What today is too much for you may be a piss in a pot tomorrow and suddenly, you may find yourself thinking they are too much again. Too much is determined by one's personal pocket and where we are willing to best spend it. My for the day.

Re: How much would you spend?
Padron, Indian Tabac, most of the old General and Altadis lines, Illusione, LFDs, and anything Partagas(cc) for a couple to stock my humi.
As far as one special cigar, I won't pay over $15 (on my normal budget) and it would probably be something Padron.

Re: How much would you spend?
If I could afford it, I would definitely spend the extra $$$ to get my hands on a few of the REs from Habanos. In particaular, the PL Magnificos look Now that I think of it, all of the cigars I'd be willing to spend +$15 on are Habanos.

Re: How much would you spend?
I'd spend (and have) over $15 on Cohiba Siglo, Esplendido, etc.
I might venture out on a limb for a special edition Partagas CC, or a Padron. Makers of regular productions that I like get a chance on the special stuff. I won't gamble on a RE/LE that doesn't have a starting point I like.

Re: How much would you spend?
i rarely spend 15$ on a single. bolivar esp no 1, monte esp. 1 + 601 green churchills are the cigars that cost around 15 $ that i bought last year.
i just go to my b+m and make one of those instinct buys if i spend 15 or more on a single... |
