Not a bad deal.

I looked very hard at the Livia when I was shopping.

For me, it became obvious that it was the last machine I would be looking at for hopefully at least a decade and I decided to pony up a few hundred more for the E61 brewgroup and get something new.

Nevertheless, for a few hundred more than a Silvia, this Livia is a considerable upgrade.

The stainless drip tray and bottomless portafilter add to the value for sure.

Like any prosumer machine, I read it is VERY sensitive to technique, but rewards proper technique with near perfect espresso.

The reviews say it has great steam, and the internals are as good as any, including the boiler.

Nice machine.

I'm going to just drop the price on this to what I would expect to let the machine go for after some bargaining anyway...which is $800. I'm going to be getting out of home espresso, as I've never used the set-up as much as I had anticipated, and I could really use the extra cash with being out of work and all. It breaks my heart...but I've got to do what I've got to do.
