Re: Mad Men Season 3
So what did you guys think about the first episode? I liked it a lot. I think the big focus in the workplace is going to be the big changes that are coming with the merger. We already saw that a bit but judging from the previews there are some huge changes coming to the company. Other than that I thought some interesting things happened for sure. Watching Don's relationship with his family should be cool...he seems to want to do the right thing but just cannot quite do it. Thoughts?

Re: Mad Men Season 3
It is set in NYC in 1960 during the advertising boom. The main character, Don Draper, is very intriguing, and the show follows his life. The show focuses more on character development than plot, which is why I like it so well. I find the setting and characters to be spot on. I love how the drink and smoke at work, and it is interesting to watch how the men treat the secretaries and other females in the workplace. I break the show up into three main areas of Don's life: his work life, his home life, and his "secret" life. The show is fantastic!

No, not gangsters, Darrell, lol. But life in 1960 was very different. In the first season a women goes to a ob/gyn, she's in the stirrups and he's smoking.
I believe season 3 is taking place in 1963 |

Nope...they are ad-men, working in the booming advertising business of the early 60s.
