Default Need a 40x40x10 3.3v 2 wire fan

I'm having a little trouble finding a 40x40x10mm 3.3v 2 wire fan anywhere - does anyone have a source?

Thanks!

The lowest I can find is a 5volt. What do you need it for?

It's actually for a studio light, the original fan wore out.

Your best bet may be getting the 5v fan and putting a resistor on it.

I already have a 5v fan and it won't spin up, as it needs more voltage - how would a resistor work?

You can use it to drop down the voltage. Give us the current rating on the 5v fan you have, and we can calculate what resistor you would need.

The point is I didn't need to drop, I needed more.

The situation has changed though - somehow I misread the voltage from the rail and it's actually putting out 16v. I have NO idea how I read 3.2 before.

Anyway, I put in a 7805 voltage regulator that brought it down to 5v, but the fan still doesn't spin up for some reason, not sure why. It just jumps for a moment. I tried a larger 12v fan and it spins fine, so I'm just going to stop in at compusa and get a smaller 12v fan to fit.

The 5v fan tested ok, it spins on AA cells fine.
